Austin Gorilla Run 2012

Hundreds of gorillas will once again take over the streets of downtown Austin. This time, we have a record to beat. The Guinness Book of World Records has given us the opportunity to break the current world record of 1061 gorillas in one place.

The second annual Austin Gorilla Run is a 5k where everyone runs in full gorilla costume, that's right- FULL COSTUME!

Registration Includes:
- a downtown 5K
- a full gorilla costume (that you get to keep)!
- after party with food and music at Fado Irish Pub
- being an integral part of a great cause

All proceeds benefit The Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund; An organization that has been working tirelessly to save the Mountain Gorillas and educate the locals in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Come by 8:40am for the Guinness Book count. The race begins at 9:00am at the 1st street bridge. Expect to see Thirsty Planet Brewery, RunTex, and many more local Austin sponsors.

Following the race will be a block party outside of Fado Irish Pub, who will provide lunch, while ACHACHAY! and SPEAK rock your gorilla suits off. There will also be a costume contest so don't forget to go all creative on your gorilla suit. see our Facebook albums for ideas.
