Spirit of a Woman (S.O.W.) Leadership Development Institute, is hosting the 2nd Annual Red Thread Movement event for our 9th Anniversary. The Red Thread is a community movement that opens a gateway for people from multiple cultures to share common bonds and connections through the sacred art of "Storytelling".

During last year's event, community members gathered to participate with a powerful night of ritual, artistic expression and authentic sharing. Because the event was so moving and impactful, we have added an additional presentation to enhance the experience. On Friday, July 22, 2011 and Friday, July 29, 2011, the community will convene to experience two powerful storytelling mediums; "Psychodrama and Playback Theater".

Friday, July 29, 2011 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm - Opening Ceremony, Artistic Presentations & Peformance By Big Apple Playback Theater - Donation - $15
LOCATION: Siloam Presbyterian Church- 260 Ralph Avenue in Brooklyn, NY

The Red Thread Movement events will also serve as a fundraiser and proceeds will be used toward the Youth In Action (Y.I.A.) Playback Theater Troupe. S.O.W. is committed to providing young people with opportunities to inspire and motivate their peers, their families and communities. Y.I.A will bring Playback Theater to schools, churches and CBO's in the New York City and greater metropolitan areas, where issues such as violence, drug use and oppression, are impacting and affecting young people daily. The Y.I.A. troupe members will help other young people to unearth the stories and experiences that have blocked them from tapping into their power and discovering their true purpose in the world.
