On September 6, 2011 we’ll be hosting the first WeSTART event AND the Austin Startup Week kick-off party. Please get your ticket early as the venue has a capicity and we expect this to sell out.
What is WeSTART you ask? WeSTART is an enlightening evening where speakers from the community share an idea they had and how they accomplished it (or didn’t!). We will be giving you some free booze, food stuffs and inspiration in trade for $10. We will be passing the moolah along to an attendee who has shared an awesome idea with us & could use a little cash to get it started.
We’re confirming with the speakers, but we assure you, they are awesome.
Doors: 7:00
Start: 8:00
Party time: 9:00ish
Interested in starting something awesome? While we don't have any firm guidelines, we'd like to see cool projects, non-profits, community efforts and of course fledging startups & businesses who need that first $1K or so to get off the ground. Please complete the application form via the Eventbrite if you are interested in applying. We’ll be going through them and passing them along to the speakers who will make the final decisions and determine which project to fund. This is a one time grant with no strings attached! The amount of the grant will of course be based on the number of attendees. The only thing we ask is that you come back to share at the next event! The deadline to submit is Thursday, September 1st so hurry!
