You can help build a better, brighter Nassau County on August 1st by voting yes at a public referendum. The referendum asks residents whether they wish to invest in Nassau’s future by building a first-class sports-entertainment destination at the site of Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The plan includes a new sports-entertainment arena and new minor league ballpark at Michel Field. An independent economic analysis conducted by Camoin Associates indicates that taxpayers will benefit to the tune of $403 million in revenue (to help offset property taxes) over the life of the building. Taxpayers will also own the building. This economist also projects the creation of 1,500+ construction jobs and 3,000+ permanent jobs. If this referendum fails, the NY Islanders will leave Nassau County and the Coliseum doors will shutter. The result would be devastating to our local economy and businesses. Please join me in voting YES on August 1st. Our future depends on it. Please tell family and friends who live in Long Island about this vote and vote YES on August 1st. You can vote at your local voting sites. Where you normally go for major elections.
