As a coworking community, Members have access to a large collaborative work environment that offers professional and informal spaces. Additionally, Center61 provides office facilities, conference and private meeting rooms, and other unique partnership opportunities to raise capital for nonprofits and social entrepreneurs. The Purpose: Center61 is a physical and virtual platform where social networking becomes social inter-ACTION for nonprofits and social entrepreneurs committed to changing the world. The Platform: Center61 is designed to be a platform for social change through entrepreneurship. As a coworking community, Members have access to a large collaborative work environment that offers professional and informal spaces. Additionally, Center61 provides office facilities, conference and private meeting rooms, and other unique partnership opportunities to raise capital for nonprofits and social entrepreneurs. The People: Austin has over 6,000 nonprofits and is widely considered one of the leading hubs for entrepreneurship. Center61 is looking for emerging (1-to-3 person) organizations who aspire to make a difference. Center61 members have outgrown their informal work environments and/or crave a space that offers a positive, collaborative atmosphere. The deeper purpose of Center61 is to serve the community as a physical platform that aids members to attain their own deeper purpose. The Place: Center61 is located at the new PeopleFund headquarters in East Austin (2921 E. 17th Street, Building D, Suite 4, Austin, TX 78702). The 3,000 square feet of office space on the 2nd floor of PeopleFund’s LEED certified building has been designed with the understanding that Center61 Members need a place to convene their supporters, whether for a board meeting, client presentation or volunteer training.
