Pleaseurekraft:
(Great Stuff // 1605 // Hotfingers)
Every so often, a group comes along which shakes the entire dance scene from its very roots with a style so unique, and a sound so intoxicating, that it influences scores of imitators, and inspires a new generation of producers. Pleasurekraft is exactly such a group.
The brainchild of Kaveh Soroush and Kalle Ronngardh, Pleasurekraft was born in the summer of 2009. Having had their very first track played by Pete Tong on his Essential Selection, and then doing remixes for Chymera, and John Acquaviva’s Definitive imprint, Pleasurekraft became a new name to keep an eye on.
Fast forward to the spring of 2010, and the year’s biggest smash hit, Pleasurekraft’s “Tarantula” was released. It quickly earned the support of the world’s biggest DJs and went on to win not only
Top Tech House track at the Beatport awards in Miami in March 2011 - but took the coveted grand prize of Top Track of the Year (ALL Genres).
Being hailed by critics as one of the biggest surprises of the last year - and an act with a bright future ahead, Pleasurekraft are not slowing down. Having already done remixes for Sander Kleinenberg, Green Velvet's ubiquotuous "La La Land" anthem, and many more - 2011 has seen them releasing several new originals including the recent "Carny" - with huge support already from DJs around the world including Annie Mac + Pete Tong on Radio 1. WIth upcoming remixes for Style of Eye and Australia's Sneaky Sound System - and new originals on Umek's 1605 and their own imprint Kraftek - the future is a bright place for the one-of-a-kind Pleasurekraft.
While dance music trends come and go, those who stick to a singular vision and belief in the
music they consistently produce are always left standing when the fads have long gone. Pleasurekraft is exactly such a group.
J Phlip
(Dirtybird // Berlin)
Her proximity to Chicago’s famous house scene tremendously affected her sound, but the distance afforded her the freedom to incorporate a variety of other influences into her repertoire. Her sets posses a fun, “lets-not-forget-this-is-dance-music,” feeling and simultaneously keep you guessing about what might come next. Her collection spans house, tech house, deep house, techno, booty bass and pretty much anything that make you shake your ass.
She’s currently a well known DJ/Producer in San Francisco. Her skills on the decks and in the studio have secured her highly desirable spot as an official member of the dirtybird crew. She has a residency at San Francisco’s infamous Endup nightclub, which is notorious for its non-stop, never-ending parties.
