Here at BUS, it's not about who's popular. It's not about who's biting who's style. It's not about who is trendy or fashionable. It's not about what toes we step on. It's not about how much art we sell. It's not about how to "fit in" to the current San Francisco fine art, high brow, art scene. What it is about is how many people in that scene we can piss off with this show. It is about what Magick we can conjure, when every one facies themselves dangerous mAGICKIANS these days. It's about what Evil means and what that does to the status quo. Come through, and let's see how weird, freaky we can get. Come, and prove how absolutely Pro Culture, to all the other Counter Culture schmucks, we can are.
What is evil? What is Dangerous? Two questions that are subjective and steeped in adversarial denial and angst. Join us at Big Umbrella Studios for an exercise in the Dangerous and Evil. In the vein of the COUM exhibitions, and in honor of people like Genesis Breye P. Orridge, Grant Morrison, William Burroughs, Kenneth Anger, Austin Osman Spare, and the likes, we will be displaying artistic visions of topics and content that have been objects of ridicule from the status quo. Art thought low brow to an elitist art world. Art thought queer to a straight world. Art thought Magickal to a scientific world. Art thought EVIL to a world that always wants to be a hero. All in the pursuit of the answer to the question: What do YOU think is EVIL. you haven't seen evil, til you've seen your own judgements. So come and make some judgements of your own. We aim to please. Big Umbrella Studios: It's where that red dot on your forehead is coming from.
