Tara Firm and the Lunar War Chronicles
“Loved on Earth, feared on the moon, easy on the eyes”
“Tara Firm and the Lunar War Chronicles” is a rocket, sprocket, live action comic, about a buxom bombshell fighter pilot named Tara Firm, who in 1917 finds herself in the middle of the Great Lunar War, defending Earth against Lunar Militarism.
This Victoria Fringe Festival show is a steampunk, Tesla-pop adventure, featuring an all-star Victoria cast: Charles (One Man Star Wars Trilogy) Ross, Atomic Vaudeville’s Rod Peter Jr., Chris Cooley, David Radford, and Christina Patterson as the rivet-popping Tara Firm.
Recruited as a reconnaissance pilot, Tara Firm transfers to Schparticle Squadron on Moon Base 2 to find that her superior, the ambitious Major Ari Marson, has plans to use her expertise as the pilot of a steam powered rocket ship to suit his own ulterior motive in the battle against moon soldiers during the Great Lunar War.
This original play from Launch Pad Productions combines the look of H.G. Wells, with the flavour of an early science fiction serial. It’s Indiana Jones meets Futurama. The gleaming action, soap-operatic situations, and hyper-articulated dialogue put you right in the middle of a pop-up comic book and makes you believe that “The only good Moon Soldier is a dead Moon Soldier”.
