8/6 is the memorial day for the Hiroshima atomic bomb and also a day where people around the world pray for peace. We hope this candle night will provide a place for thought and prayer, in remembrance of all those lost in past tragedies and in hope for a peaceful future.
We hope it will be a fun event where people can enjoy the beautiful summer evening with friends and family.
Please feel free to bring food and drinks but take home all your trash. Please bring any candles you have (the more the prettier).
There will be a small craft corner for kids and some live music.
We will also have a fund-raising booth for Human Shield Kobe, an organization specializing in disaster relief, lead by Mr. Yoshimura, a local resident, which has been working continuously in Tohoku since the earthquake.
