Celebrate Tu B'Av (aka Jewish Love Day) at Late Shabbat!
In the days of the Temple Tu B'Av was considered one of the two most joyous holidays. Marking the grape harvest, unmarried women dressed in white and danced in the vineyards. Men were told, "lift up your eyes and choose wisely. Don't look only at physical beauty - look rather at the family - for charm is false and beauty is vanity."
After services we'll eat, drink, and be merry by dancing all night, including Israeli and Swing dance lessons! Also we'll introducing a brand new program. What is it? Find out only at Shabbat, but here's a hint: "I'm longing to be the envy of all I see."
Late Shabbat is a groundbreaking Shabbat designed for young adults, led by Rabbi Sydney Mintz and Marsha Attie.
If it's your 1st time at Late Shabbat, or you don't want to sit alone, then please join us for a welcome reception at 7:00pm.
