Last year I saw the desert for the first time ever, and I saw that it was good. I also found a crystal half as big as I was. PRETTY FREAKING AWESOME, WOUDLN'T YOU SAY?

So come with me to the desert. I'll be leaving from Silicon Valley around noonish on Friday, arriving in Trona that eveningish to set up camp and make sure the beer is still good. It's about a 7 hour drive, so make the BEST playlists you can. There's no mosquitos, so we didn't use tents last year, but they would be an excellent idea to bring.

The next morning we drive into town, get pancakes at the church that sets up pancakes for the dig, and then go dig up some green muddy crystals, and also a GEYSER. More beer and camping under the stars that night.

Sunday is pancakes again, and then pink crystals in pools filled with bacteria that can't hurt you, and driving home. There is also a gem and mineral show, and many pretty things can be bought.

Pancake breakfast is $5 each day, and it's $35ish per car for the weekend of crystal digging. I'll try to start compiling carpoolage when things get closer, but please also feel very free to get your own ride arranged. <3

Beer
s'mores
food that will last for two dinners and two lunches and some snacks
probably lots of water

buckets
scrubby brushes
pokey garden tools
toothbrushes you don't want to use for your mouth anymore

TENT
sleeping pad
sleeping bag
pillow
clothes that are ok being very, very dirty and might not want to be kept
extra blankets
cash for pancakes
