At TED 2006, Sir Ken Robinson made the case that people were being “educated out of creativity”. His call to arms quickly became one of the world's most viewed talks and ignited debate worldwide. Working in partnership with Sir Ken Robinson, we are proud to present TEDxLondon The Education Revolution, taking place at the Roundhouse, London on 17th September 2011.
We will be asking the question "How can we bring on the learning revolution?"
TEDxLondon will serve as a launch pad for real, continued action.
We will be asking what YOU CAN DO to build a new model of learning – effective, relevant, and inspiring. As a TEDxLondon audience member, your contribution to this vision is vital.
We are drawing together an impassioned group of people including Jude Kelly, Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre and Dougald Hine creator of the School of Everything to explore issues with the current system, praise heroes making a difference right now and discovering how we can drive change for the future?
Very special guest contributors are yet to be announced. This is your chance to join the TEDxLondon community and be amongst some of the best thinkers, speakers and innovators in the country. Registration is open at
www.tedxlondon.com. We are expecting to sell out of seats very quickly. A standard ticket for The Education Revolution at £65 but you can take advantage of an early bird rate of £50 whilst tickets last.
Maybe you had a formal education, or maybe you learned in a different way? Whatever your reason for joining us, you’ll have the opportunity to help provide people with an diverse set of skills for the modern world.
If you are not familiar with The Roundhouse, please spend some time looking at
http://www.roundhouse.org.uk/ The Roundhouse is proud to hold the event due to its contribution to young people for the community. An apt beginning for a revolution in learning, the Roundhouse began as a steam-engine repair shed in the Victorian era before turning itself into the eventful, unforgettable and enviable heritage building.
