An EPIC party spawns legendary stories. Don't MISS OUT!! Read this until the end.
Way back in the day, in the cities of London, New York, San Francisco, and LA, before there was internet, sh*t .... before there were even cell-phones, there used to be parties........ OUTRAGEOUS parties.
Never legal. Always loud. And sometimes, even just a little bit crazy.
These parties used to be referred to as being “underground”or sometimes even being called a “rave”.
To bring you back to the old school, in order to find one of these so called, “underground” parties, to prevent the police from breaking it up, it would not be uncommon for you to have go to a mini-mart in a sketchy neighborhood to talk to some sleazy guy named Zed behind the counter to get from him either a password, a phone number to call, a map, or a checkpoint in order to find this secret oasis of awesome.
This year, in the spirit on Rites of Passage, we are reminding you of one of your first Rights of Passage; your first exposure to the “underground” scene and your first taste of electronic music by throwing an old school rave.
We understand that you are burners and get distracted easily, so we won’t make it too difficult to find the playa’s only secret “underground” party.
But we promise you this, your focus and determination will be handsomely rewarded with some of the best sights and sounds of the playa. (And just like in old school fashion, you didn't know the lineup up until you got there. So you need to trust our producer, the Rockstar Librarian Kate Houston, and her taste here. She knows all that is going on. ;) ) In what will be the most EPIC and most talked about party on the playa of 2011.
Ready to come out and play?! So are you paying attention????
Here goes:
On Thursday night, right after the C.O.R.E burn, you will know it is “TIME” to party.
How will you know?
You won’t need to walk “1 mile” to get to this checkpoint. And the checkpoint will have something coming out of it that will distinctly remind you of what every underground party needs to “LIGHT” up the dance floor.
If you can’t figure this out, we are sorry, you clearly are NOT ready for such a wicked party. We suggest you stay somewhere a little more tame.
But before you head out to the playa, we STRONGLY suggest downloading the Rockstar Librarian’s Burning Man Music Guide (where you can find all of the sound camp’s lineups) at rockstarlibrarian.com
In the guide, you will find the password that will get you past the checkpoint. (Hey, we got to make sure you are not the police) ;)
And if you have the stamina to make it to the end, once again, in true old school rave fashion, you will be rewarded with finding out the location to the secret after party where some bubbles (champagne) and bass will be waiting for you.
See You Thursday.
PS And don't forget to spread the word of the Rockstar Librarian and her music guide by becoming a fan on facebook.
UPDATE: We have been begged and begged for our lineup. Someone offered us their first born for a glimpse into what we got in store. Another person offered us a lifetime supply of bacon. We have even had offers of SEX! So we decided that we have been a little unfair to you.
You have asked.
And now we will reveal.

UPDATE #2
The Rockstar Librarian has finally released her music guide with all the sound camps lineups.
(And you thought I was going to tell you something Rave related??!!)
Well ACTUALLY, it is rave related!!!!
The password to our rave is in the guide for Thursday night. So you need the guide in order to get the password so that you can come to the party.
But seriously, why wouldn't you want to have something as sweet as the guide anyway?!
Go to
http://www.rockstarlibrarian.com to download and print the guide.
And if you are feeling up to it, feel free to print up some extra guides to gift to your friends (and your future friends) out on the playa.
And if you really appreciate the guide, please consider donating some $ to help cover printing costs so that we may gift the guide to others out on the playa. (Donation button is on the right hand corner of rockstarlibrarian.com)
Update #3
We forgot to mention that we signed up a little radio station called the BBC to broadcast our Rave. Maybe you have heard of them?! ;)
Think of it as, our very own "pirate radio" station.
Any of you old school peeps out there ever see that old Christian Slater movie "Pump Up The Volume"?
Update #4
For all of you who will be waiting at the gates to get in tomorrow night, check out The Rockstar Librarian Radio Show on Bmir from 6pm-Midnight, with "possible" new information about the old school rave.
