Currently, in coorporation with the Danish Sailing Assoiation we are planning to arrange the 2011 Open Nationals for all Olympic classes in conjunction with the Aarhus Sailing Week, as many northern European teams already will be in Denmark to train and later, mid September, ship their gear off the Port of Aarhus to Perth.
This could boost the traditionally +350 team event to a further maximum. All Optimist, Feva and Zoom 8 teams will be based in Egaa Marina, app 5 km north of Aarhus, all other classes in Aarhus Yachting Harbour, the venue of the 2008 ISAF Youth Worlds.
The Aarhus sailing week is held in the same weekend as the Aarhus Festival beginns. The Aarhus Festival is among the largest cultural events in Scandinavia and showcases both local, national and international artists. Aarhus Festival is highly esteemed and recognized both in Denmark and abroad.
