Ben and Dion, founders of Ajaxian.com and FunctionSource.com and formerly of Mozilla, Google, and Palm/HP, are hosting a series of Mobile Tech Talks this Wednesday, August 31st. The event will consist of a series of rapid-fire, 10 to 15-minute presentations on mobile-related topics from a variety of influencers, such as:
- Brian Leroux, Andre Charland, and Dave Johnson, the founders of PhoneGap, the extremely popular framework for bridging web and native apps
- Abe Elias, the founder and CTO of Sencha (formerly known as Ext, the company behind Ext JS) and James Pearce, Sr. Director of Developer Relations. Sencha is behind some of the most influential HTML5 libraries and toolkits today, including Sencha Touch, jQTouch, Raphaël, InfoVis, and more.
- Tony Tam, VP Engineering of hot startup Wordnik and creator of the awesome Swagger framework for creating self-documented RESTful APIs (http://swagger.wordnik.com/)
- Ben and Dion, VPs of Mobile Engineering and Architecture at Walmart.com after their start-up team was acquired in early 2011, and who together served as Directors of Developer Relations at Palm and Directors of Developer Tools at Mozilla. They'll present a version of their popular Web versus Apps keynote.
- Paul Cousineau, VP Mobile Products at Walmart.com and formerly Sr. Director of Product Management at Palm over webOS. Paul will show us how mobile is changing the way people shop.
- Digvijay Lambda, Chief Categorization Architect @WalmartLabs will discuss how Walmart approaches Big Data Processing (i.e., NoSQL) and Semantic Analysis of the Social Stream (Machine Learning, Data Mining) to bring personalized experiences to bear in mobile products.
The evening will be informative, technically relevant, engaging and incredibly entertaining.
