No other US electronic music artist has celebrated the kind of success and fame that Moby has. An underground dance music DJ, producer, film scorer and icon going back to the early 90s, Moby has 20 years under his belt as a performer, which is clearly evident when he hits the stage. From New York, to London, to Ibiza; Moby is known as one of the most gifted DJs in the house/techno world and has been headlining the most prestigious massives, clubs and festivals for nearly two decades (Ultra, Love Parade, Electric Zoo, Movement, Fright Night). Supporting this New York based line up will be techno legend Alexi Delano and live house/nu-disco duo Blondes, whose recent tour opening for Simian Mobile Disco gained them fans across North America.
Moby started making music when he was 9 years old. He started DJ’ing while attending college, and was a fixture in the late 80′s New York house and hip-hop scenes, DJ’ing at clubs such as Mars, Red Zone, MK, and The Palladium. His records have sold over 20,000,000 copies worldwide, and he’s also produced and remixed scores of other artists, including David Bowie, Metallica, The Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, among others. Currently he’s touring in support of his most recent album, Destroyed, as well as working closely with a variety of different charities, including The Humane Society and The Institute For Music and Neurologic Function.
Alexi Delano dwells in the perfect balance between shiny minimalism and dark vivacious techno. With more than two decades on stage he has been able to combine different roots and facets of the contemporary music scale. With a production and DJ style that sways neatly between house and techno, he consistently surprises with each release.
“Our musical chemistry has always existed in the context of actually playing,” explains Sam Haar, one-half of the Brooklyn-based duo Blondes. “From pre-written material in our old post-punk band to recent tracks that were completely improvised, it’s all about capturing music in the moment; all about hearing our hands shape samples, toy with our instruments, and turn tons of knobs.”
For fans of Daft Punk, Bassment Jaxx, Richie Hawtin and Simian Mobile Disco.
