A group of prominent technology startup and social marketing personalities have announced a major social event for the Fall, the "Dave Balter Tech Prom," to be held at the Boston Public Library on Thursday, October 20, 2011.

A group of prominent technology startup and social marketing personalities have announced a major social event for the Fall, the "Dave Balter Tech Prom," to be held at the Boston Public Library on Thursday, October 20, 2011.
"A few of us were talking one night about how the high school proms of some pretty prominent Boston startup folks were less than a spectacular success," said Dave Balter, a charter sponsor of the project who agreed to lend his name to the event. "We got to thinking it would be cool to have a kind of semi-grown up do-over, knowing what we know now. And with that the Tech Prom concept was born."
