No doubt about it! This show is going to be special. We've been working so very hard in the studio and we're finally going to be releasing the first two tracks off the upcoming debut album! Did you hear that?!! The first two tracks we've ever released as a band! And they sound so so good. We've just got to throw a huge party to celebrate those facts.
Our first show at Viracocha was so jam packed sold out they were having to turn people away at the door. That didn't feel right. SO: we're playing this new venue called BeatBox in San Francisco that has plenty of room for you and your friends and your friends' friends' daughter to burn the leather off all y'alls' favorite boots.
First off, this bill is incredible. We've enlisted the wonderful song writer Debbie Neigher to kick things off, followed by the force that is Tartufi. Our very own half of the Chicago based electronic duo Colorist (Charles Gorczynski) is going to be spinning some dreamy tunes in between sets.
But, in order to top it all off, we've hired a troop of mimes (seriously) and a separate troop of dancers to add that special "je ne sais quoi" to an already unforgettable evening. Seriously you won't want to miss this. no way. not once not never.

DREAMS!
A newly-formed collaboration fronted by Emily Ritz of Honeycomb/Yesway and lead by keyboardist Rob Shelton of The Moanin Dove, the group melds multiple genres into a pulsating rhythmic psychedelic pop juggernaut. Think of Billy Holiday meeting an electro-afro-pop infused future.

TARTUFI!!
"4 Stars! An expansive lattice of twinkling loops, math-rock crunch and none-more-giddy harmonies.”
– Mojo Magazine
"Part aggressive, experimental-noise rock, part delicate and lovely melody and completely awesome, Tartufi's live show is a marvel." -Sarah Wengert, The Reader (Omaha, NE)
Tartufi is Lynne Angel, Brian Gorman and Ben Thorne. They create loop-heavy sonically diverse soundscapes with overlaying harmonies, melodies, and poly-rhythms that interweave between the lands of beauty, loss, and triumph. The effect is something unlike most popular music toady; an aural overhaul, a hypnotic surrender to their sound, and a wonder to witness, live or on record. They have been voted one of the best live bands in San Francisco and the best indie band by the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
“Nine out of 10 buzz bands don’t deserve it; Tartufi does.” - A. Schacht, Creative Loafing (Charlotte, NC)
“An imposing tangle of beauty and ambition.” - Robbie Mackey, XLR8R Magazine
“You’re left in awe at how versatile yet distinct their music is… you’re left more or less with your jaw hanging open.” - Dave Heaton, erasingclouds.com

DEBBIE NEIGHER!!!
Debbie Neigher has never let the piano get away with being just a piano; her provocative songwriting and years of classical training command the force of a full band on the keys. Her nuanced, jazz-infused vocals are testaments to a life lived beyond her 24 years, narrating topics ranging from moving across the country to sexual assault to wondering what happened to her childhood best friend. Neigher’s recently completed debut LP combines these honest stories with intricate piano playing and the colors of the Magik*Magik Orchestra (Death Cab for Cutie, Third Eye Blind), creating kaleidoscopic vignettes of her personal growth over 10 stunning tracks.
Without an apartment or job waiting for her, the then-twenty-two year old Neigher fearlessly uprooted herself from her native state of New Jersey and flew across the country to San Francisco to pursue her music fully. By night, Neigher began to gig as a solo artist at renowned venues like Yoshi’s San Francisco Jazz Club. By day, she works at a non-profit organization located in one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods. She gives vocal and piano lessons and teaches creative writing to homeless youth, empowering them to express themselves creatively and leave street life. “It’s one less hour they’re on the streets,” Neigher says with fervor.
In what she calls “a massive honor,” John Vanderslice, solo pop-folk artist and owner of Tiny Telephone Recording Studio, offered to produce her debut record (his past work includes indie greats Spoon and The Mountain Goats). After an intensive eleven days in the studio, she hand delivered reels of her analog tapes to Los Angeles where it was mastered. The album was released on July 26, 2011.
