It's both back to school season and locavore month here in New York, so what better time for a Locavore "School Lunch" potluck at the LFC?
Invite your friends, invite your family, invite your lunchlady and come wearing your favorite apron and hairnet. It's our local school lunch potluck.
Our fun theme of "school lunch" means you can bring something vegetarian that you might find in a school cafeteria. But, more importantly, bring something made from local food products to help celebrate locavore month. I know, Judy, I love banana and nutella sandwiches, too, but neither of those are made here in Rochester. Why not bring SoyBoy tofu and Once Again Nut Butter sandwiches instead?
Other than that, the drill is the same. Show up in the backyard around 7, eating begins around 7:30. I've been informed that Joey F. will be brewing some fresh, local compost tea for everyone's enjoyment. Perhaps it will even be blue?
