The Plaza Art Fair is a time-honored tradition and celebrates its 80th year with the 2011 Art Fair. The Art Fair will take place Friday, September 23 to Sunday, September 25 throughout the Country Club Plaza.
The Art Fair will feature artwork by 240 artists, food from 30 restaurants and there will be three live music stages.
This has been a great year for INK magazine in their efforts to promote the local music community in Kansas City. INK has teamed up with the Kansas City Royals and produced a pre-game concert series for 12 games at Kauffman Stadium. INK has also teamed up with Sporting Kansas City and has produced a pre and post-game concert series for 15 games at LIVEStrong Park. Additionally INK partnered with the inaugural Kanrocksas Music Festival which hosted 60,000 music fans at the Kansas Speedway. INK hosted the INK Unplugged stage and featured nine bands at the two day fest. All of this was made possible after the success of INK’s own music festival this past April, “INK’s Middle of the Map Fest presented by The Record Machine” which celebrated over 50 bands, local, national and international in a two day festival that brought more than 3000 music fans to Westport for the weekend.
INK magazine views the opportunity to produce a stage at the upcoming Plaza Art Fair as an opportunity to continue to spread the message to listen to and support local Kansas City musicians. Ink views this as a chance to introduce great Kansas City bands to some of the 250,000 people who will attend the fair.
We hope you can come out and hear some music. Cheers.
