About Emmanuel Shiu
EMMANUEL SHIU's passion in photography began from the early 1980's when he took his first photography class in the 9th grade at the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts or ISOMATA (now called Idyllwild Arts Foundation) in Idyllwide, CA. In 1988, he studied in the Photography program at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. However, after two semesters, he got into a life-altering accident that was followed by years of recovery. Two years after the injury, Emmanuel resumed his study and was enrolled in the California College of Arts and Crafts (now called California College of the Arts) in San Francisco, CA. Graduated with a BFA in Interior Architecture, he immediately launched a career in the film and game industry. He believes that his photography skills have laid a strong foundation for his career, which was especially evident when using the skills as a matte painter for films. Parallel to his career, Emmanuel has continued to pursue his passion in photography creating numerous personal works throughout the years. In 2009, he decided to open a page on Facebook named "Iphone Photo of the Day" to share his world with others, one day at a time.
Emmanuel is currently a freelance conceptual and set designer for the film industry.
