http://bit.ly/mZvjBz. Also, there are photo contests!!! "Love" - just tag any photo on instagram with #1197is to enter. 30 of our favorite entries get their photos printed on a 4x4 aluminum square panel by PostalPix! Like their FB page:
https://www.facebook.com/PostalPix. That's right, here's your chance to wipe that digital dust of your iPhone pics and have them directly infused onto 1mm thick, scratch-resistant aluminum. We will pull pics from #1197is, so make sure to tag yours!
Whole Foods Market is excited to offer 1197 photographers the chance to earn a little extra grocery money. All you have to do is upload a food-related picture with the hashtag #WFM1197. The best pic sent will receive a Whole Foods Market gift card. Winners will be announced during the afternoon session of the conference!
"Start capturing your love of mobile photography early by snapping images of the people, places, and things you LOVE and tagging them #1197is. Fill up your Camera Roll and bring it with you to the event so we can show you how turn those snapshots into mobile phone masterpieces. If you can't post on Instagram, Twitter, Flickr, or any service that allows us to search for #1197is, you can send us your best mobile phone photo that covers the love theme. Either method enters you into a chance to win a free Blurb book and other prizes, as well as have your photo featured at the event. So, go ahead. Send your best mobile photo.. Yes, we'll know if you send us an SLR photo. Don't be silly."
The morning is a workshop where you learn composition, app stacking, and story telling specifically for camera phones. Prizes. In the afternoon, we'll have talks about journalism, photo techniques, engineering, and the user experience of mobile photography. Mo' prizes. You'll be taking photos and interacting with your fellow 1197'ers the whole time. There will be legit Wifi, since we all know AT&T in SF is a joke.
