ok, so here's the deal...i've spoken with a bunch of people and i'm pretty confident we (an amazing group of intelligent runners in NYC) can put together our own training run to run the last 10 miles of the marathon course on 10/22 (two weeks out from the race). As some people have mentioned NY Running Co. puts together this run every year, but that it is poorly organized and probably not worth the $35 fee. I think that we all can provide our own fuel and water and most of us have garmins, so we are probably better than the never-stick-to-their-prescribed-pace pacers that they provide anyway! That run starts at 8, so i figured to avoid congestion and since it will probably be cooler by this time, i am suggesting the 9AM start, but feel free to chime in on this. Also, are pedestrians able to cross the willis ave and madison ave bridges on normal days??
We now have a month to get this settled and nothing is set in stone right now...I would LOVE help/feedback/suggestions to make this something that we can all benefit from/have a good time with, i just wanted to get something started so we have enough time to figure out details :)
