On September 24th, we'll come together (for the 5th time this year!) to cook a vegetarian meal at Welcome Ministries located on the corner of on Van Ness and Sacramento. Most feeding programs in San Francisco are not open on Saturday or Sunday nights, which means that the Saturday Community Dinner is vital to hundreds of hungry individuals in the city.

Duties:
Food prep/cooking
Serve/eat dinner/clean kitchen area
Timing: 2:00 - 7:00
We're looking for 15 volunteers to help for the shifts noted above to help cook and serve a meal made with love and fresh, local, organic ingredients, to approximately 150 guests, who will primarily be homeless, low income, and senior citizens. Meals will be served restaurant style (instead of having guests line up soup kitchen style), and after serving, volunteers will eat the cooked meal with guests -- all of which encourages community and preserves dignity.
It would be great if each volunteer can contribute $15 or more for the meal. This will go towards food costs for the people that we will be serving to and also includes the cost of our own dinner as we will be eating with them. (Any additional donations are appreciated, even if you can't make it that day)
Please RSVP by clicking "Attending". We need an accurate head count and final budget before the event so if you aren't sure you can make it, click "Maybe Attending". (If money or committing to the full time period is an issue, just contact one of us and we can discuss.)
