Emerge is the UK’s leading gathering for a new generation of leaders who are redefining the world in which we live. Emerge engages and connects professionals and university students who aspire to drive transformational change with current global change-agents leading entrepreneurial ventures, businesses and sector-defying organisations. Emerge is about “what’s next”: the big ideas, the future leaders, the driving forces challenging the status quo. It brings to the forefront that which is emerging: new models, markets and movers of transformational change.
Over the two day gathering, participants learn from leading global entrepreneurs about their innovations to address some of the world’s most urgent challenges. Emerge centres on learning and action; it is a space to gain skills and resources to launch your new venture, to design intrapreneurial or entrepreneurial career pathways, and to provoke new ideas for creating a more sustainable world.
The Emerge Conference 2011 will feature 50 international speakers including Bill Strickland (Founder, Manchester Craftsmen's Guild USA), Mike Barry (Head of Sustainable Business, Barks & Spencer) and - back by popular demand - Jack Sim (Founder and CEO, World Toilet Organisation). Emerge will also see the launch of the Emerge Venture Lab competition aimed at supporting and investing in promising student-led ideas and plans for social and environmental impact, the first Emerge Marketplace and a Live Social Innovation Challenge supported by the Dell Social Innovation Competition.
Emerge is co-designed and co-organised by The **Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship** at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and **Student Hubs,** a student-led organisation working in universities across the UK to engage students with social and environmental issues. Emerge 2011 is kindly sponsored by the **Dell Social Innovation Competition** and **Barclays Capital. **Please note that tickets for Emerge 2011 are non-refundable.
