BUSINESS: Lawrence Lenihan is the Founder, CEO and Managing Director of FirstMark Capital, which invests in early stage technology and technology-enabled companies. As an Adjunct Professor at NYU's Stern School of Business, he teaches an entrepreneurship course called "Ready, FIRE!, Aim"--this workshop is a condensation of Mr. Lenihan's course material for market timing, idea realization, product development, and more. About the Workshop
Real-time features are quickly becoming the most important aspect of any web application. This workshop will explore how to build a real-time application with Node.js and socket.io that can handle thousands of concurrent connections. Attendees should bring a laptop (preferably with a Linux / BSD based system) with Node.js 0.4.x and git installed.
