Stuart Sutcliffe is best known as the 5th Beatle, being John Lennon’s best friend and for playing bass during their early years in Hamburg. He was also a fantastic young artist who showed huge potential and the legacy of his work has been seen all over the world. This major exhibition, charting the work of a British legend, will include a number of renowned contemporary artists’ responses to Sutcliffe’s life and work and these will be exhibited alongside a selection of original Sutcliffe’s.
We're very excited about this four-stop exhibition which will be hosted by CCA&A in Hamburg, the Contemporary Urban Centre in Liverpool and Somerset House in London. NY venue is tbc.
