Mindful awareness practice helps children develops greater mind-body awareness, reduces stress, and early research findings show that it promotes the development of executive function in young children.
This workshop is dedicated to parents, teachers, health care professionals, friends, and others who wish to bring concentration, mindfulness and compassion practices into a child's life.
The morning will be devoted to exploring greater concentration, mindfulness and compassion for ourselves as adults. The afternoon will focus on how to facilitate a similar, age-appropriate exploration with children and young adults.
We will sing songs, play games, and practice mindfulness together as we explore how children, teens and their families can develop concentration, mindfulness and compassion at home, in schools and in the caring professions.
There will be an opportunities to ask questions and meet like-minded parents, teachers, health care professionals, and others in a growing movement of those interested in practicing mindfulness with children, teens and their families. Suitable for both new and experienced meditators.
Please Note: This workshop is intended for adults only. Please do not bring children with you. Adults will be learning exercises they can practice with children at home or in school.
