Some updates: Venue is confirmed (People's!). There will be plane-like food served since it will be dinner time. Those of you with kids can bring them until 10pm. Also- working on possibly some trivia games and contests. Stay tuned.
As many of you know, I'm taking off to volunteer in Tanzania Oct 18, then do some traveling, and then won't be back until probably beginning of 2012. Then, I'll be packing up and moving to San Francisco. (At least that's if I decide not to stay in Africa...)
THIS WILL BE A COSTUME PARTY. Basically, come as your favorite character from Airplane!

Below are some costume ideas from the movie Airplane! just in case you haven't already put yours together! There are some great ideas already in the making, so I'm surely looking forward to this. There are plenty more to choose from and creative takes on characters are definitely encouraged. We'll have food and I'm sorting out hopefully open-ish bar from People's. I'm sooo excited for and can't wait to see so many of you on Saturday!

-The air traffic control guys (in white overalls with headphone and 2 traffic directing handheld lights)
-The guy who washes the plane's windows and checks the oil
-The two girls fighting in the bar (they're dressed like girl scouts and have their hair in braids)
-Elaine and Ted: 1. on the beach covered in seaweed in bathing suits; 2. in the peace corps (where Ted introduces basketball to the local tribe and develops a "drinking problem" and can't sip from his water cup and Elaine hosts a tupperware party to the local tribe); 3. dancing to Staying Alive (Elaine's in a red dress, Ted is in a 70s white three piece suit)

-Johnny (he's the silly guy in the radar tower. "Johnny, what can you make out of this?" "well this, I can make a hat, an airplane...")
-The radar control guy (can't remember name): "Looks like I picked the wrong week to quick sniffing glue."
