TWO SHOWS!
October 29 at 8pm and October 30 at 3pm.
It's time for bed, but the kids won't settle down, until Mom starts recreating four Gilbert & Sullivan stories before their wondering eyes and ears. Enjoy all the wit and melody of the originals, distilled into a magical fantasy for young imaginations (and the young at heart). The Durham Savoyards sing a selection of family-friendly favorites to delight both young and old.
For nearly fifty years, the Durham Savoyards have delighted Triangle audiences by performing the comic operettas of W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan. Each spring, the Savoyards bring to the historic Carolina Theatre in downtown Durham a fully-staged production featuring a live orchestra and original scenic and costume designs. In addition, the Savoyards present concerts of G&S music with piano accompaniment and limited staging to various community groups several times a year. “Sing Me A Story” is the first Durham Savoyard concert presented in collaboration with Raleigh Little Theatre. With J. Samuel Hammond at the piano.
