Starting November 8th, our regular monthly meetings will be back every 2nd Tuesday of the month. We have been working hard to get ourselves a space to host our formal events, and McKibbin’s was kind enough to be that host. They not only have booze, but also a projector so we’ll be able to hook up things to it.
With the rebirth of CocoaHeads Montreal, we thought it’d be great to make our formal meetings richer in content. Therefore, we invite attendants to share their knowledge about any iOS and Mac development-related topics with us all. Remember, CocoaHeads Montreal is about making us grow as a developer community, so Montreal can be the next Silicon Valley, or something. Here are a few examples of talks we though would be interesting to have:
• Core Data Performance
• Grand Central Dispatch
• The importance of open source
• Quick design tips
• Responsive UI
• Publishing your apps
• Using Instruments
• New stuff in new OS versions
• What’s wrong with this app?
• Nice new apps
Because every topic doesn’t necessarily interest everyone, we should try to make every presentation short and straight to the point. In addition to those, we think it would be a good idea to have attendants showcase their newly released app (or component or anything you’re proud of) in very quick, 5 min talks so we better know who you are and what you do.
We think the bottom line is, we all want the CocoaHeads Montreal meetings to strengthen our local developer community. If you like the sound of that, please RSVP to our rebirth gathering taking place at McKibbin’s on Bishop on November 8th. We’ll have drinks and talk about what YOU think CocoaHeads should be.
(Just so you know, the organizers behind CocoaHeads Montréal are now @ocollet and @samvermette, so please don’t harass @lucvandal anymore!)
