YOU ARE HERE - Alex Brauback

In his work Braubach explores the themes of first kind encounters and abductions. His collages and paintings of camouflaged objects in ideal landscapes and monolithic structures are tongue-in-cheek homage’s to UFO photography and Opart eye-sores. Braubach is inspired by Amish quilters, David Lynch and Erich von Däniken.


Subscription Prescription - Mitsu Okubo

The work found in Subscription Prescription was created after an unpleasant incident involving a rabid dog, whose eyes were caught in a mousetrap, decided to run amok in a Laundromat where a middle aged Mitsu Okubo was busy washing his unmentionables. Mr. Okubo was able to keep the ferocious beast distracted long enough for animal control to arrive, unfortunately during the ensuing chaos Mitsu Okubo was unintentionally shot with a horse tranquilizer dart meant for the savage creature. During his sedation's Mitsu was visited by a series of visions of merriment and wonder, the results of which will be on display at his upcoming show at Lopo gallery.
