Our friend, the amazing and ever-vibrant Amit Gupta, founder of Photojojo, was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. He is currently getting chemotherapy but the next step towards his recovery is a bone marrow transplant.
Amit is Indian, and finding a donor for minorities is tough - for South Asians, like Amit, the chances are 1 in 20,000. For Caucasians, the odds are much more favorable at 8 in 10.
We're working to smash those odds and help Amit find a donor by registering more people, especially South Asians (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Nepalese, Bhutani, Maldivian and Sri Lankan). The more people registered, the more likely Amit and many others in need of a transplant will find a donor!
Joining the registry is easy - all it requires is a q-tip - and giving bone marrow is a lot like giving blood.
Party with us this Tuesday, October 25th at Project One - get swabbed, take a photo in the photobooth for Amit, and maybe even sign a pizza shaped card. We'll be raising money for Be the Match, who is subsidizing the cost of getting all of us swabbed and into the registry.

There you can find other drives if you can't join us, how to register from home, and getting your friends registered in other countries!
Thanks Meeta Panesar for help with the invite!
