Wayne will draw from his research on the philosophy of zombies and vampires to show us how our fascination with fictional beings can actually shed light on the conceptual limitations we place on ourselves.
The Startup Slide team invites you to an evening of Halloween fun! Blood red beer, candy, pizza and an enlightening talk on the important life lessons we can all learn from vampires and zombies! Costumes encouraged... prize for the best one!

About Wayne Yuen
Wayne Yuen is a philosophy professor at Ohlone College since 2002, in Fremont, CA. He received his MA from SJSU. His area of specialization is in ethics, and is particularly interested in animal rights. He has written on essays for books such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Philosophy, The Undead and Philosophy, The Golden Compass and Philosophy, Terminator and philosophy, and the forthcoming Avatar and philosophy. He is currently co-editing Neil Gaiman and philosophy, and editing The Walking Dead and Philosophy, both of which will be published in 2012. He currently lives in San Jose and is actively preparing for the zombie apocalypse.
