UPDATE: We are giving away helmets again before the ride this week. I repeat we have a FREE HELMET for you. Last weeks FREE HELMET giveway courtesy of the Austin Cycling Association was so successful that we ran out of helmets. Be at the Plaza at 6:30 and get your FREE HELMET. Photo evidence:

Alright guys and girls it’s time for a Halloween ride. No theme beyond what you’ve already had planned to dress up as for Halloween (no need to spend any more money) but we have an awesome end party we’re heading to with a costume contest, live music, a photo booth by Ann Harkness, beer (of course) and Birthday cake for Treasure City’s 5th Anniversary. Ending at : Treasure City
2142 e 7th st
Austin, TX
WHERE AND WHEN: We meet at Saltillo Plaza (
http://tinyurl.com/4yjvum4)
Get there around 7:00 for some social time. We take off around 8pm.
WHAT: A Thursday night get together of riding bikes around Austin with your friends. We ride, we hang out at parks then we go have some fun at a great bar!
WHAT YOU NEED: Lights, Locks, Wheels, an ID, and cash.
HOW: Social Cycling Austin rides AS traffic and NOT AGAINST it. We stop at red lights, yield the right of way and let cars pass as best we can. We don't block intersections. We are nice to both our fellow riders and the other traffic on the road. LISTEN TO the volunteers helping to lead the ride. They are some nice folks and have you best interest in mind. If you have any questions about the rules, I suggest you check here:
http://bicycleaustin.info/laws/austin.html
REMINDER: The goal has always been to create a safe environment for all riders, but we cannot control, nor do we desire to, every rider's behavior. We promote personal responsibility, and it is each rider's responsibility to take care of themselves, and if they choose to ride with us, then they accept those risks inherent in riding a bicycle with a large group of other people riding bicycles.
See yall at the Plaza
