Tune up your bicycles and scooters, kids. It's that special time of year when festival season [finally] slows down, allowing us to enjoy the finer things in life--bicycling in a mob, local art, and the fine art of day-drinking.
We meet at Progress Coffee at E. 5th Street / San Marcos Street around 11am to fuel up, then we hop on our bikes at NOON sharp to embark on the slow-rolling day-drunk gloriousness that is the East Austin Studio Tour.
We'll set up a GroupMe to help triangulate for those who'd like to join us earlier / folks who fall behind / come and go as ya please.
Since E.A.S.T. is bigger than ever with over 145 gallery spaces on the bill, there will probably be an encore ride on Sunday or the following weekend, but this is the main one to join up for.
What is E.A.S.T. you say? "For nine days in November, artist studios, art galleries, and various spaces all over east Austin will open up their doors to the public for the 10th East Austin Studio Tour. E.A.S.T. is a celebration of east Austin’s creative community and a chance for the public to get a behind-the-scenes look at working artists’ spaces and processes. Visitors can purchase art, see where artists work, and visit with artists about their art process. Additionally, a number of spaces will be presenting various art and performance events on all ends of the artistic spectrum." Plus, various free booze and random acts of fun along the way. I know, it sounds amazmerizing. And you're right. It is.
Invite your friends--the more the merrier!
Let's. Eff'n. DO THIS.
