HOLY GHOST! [LIVE]
http://holyghostnyc.com
This fall marks Holy Ghost!’s FIRST EVER headlining tour in the US in support of their recently release and much-adored debut album Holy Ghost!. Having spent the last year supporting friends LCD Soundsystem, Chromeo and Cut Copy on the road, they are now topping the bill. The group will be joined by two very dynamic acts: Jessica 6 and Eli Escobar, who are going to be a perfect start to the party. Be sure to catch one of this fall’s hottest tours as it makes its way across the country. A select handful of dates are below and more will be announced shortly!
JESSICA 6

Formed in 2008, Jessica 6 is a Brooklyn-based trio that pushes the boundaries of nu-disco and R&B. “It all started when Nomi brought over a kick-pattern and a song she’d written called ‘Fun Girl’,” recalls Jessica 6 bassist Andrew Raposo of the band’s conception. Ruiz (the band’s front woman), Raposo and Morgan Wiley, Jessica 6’s keys and synth master, originally met while performing with Hercules and Love Affair. “We were enjoying listening to each other’s music beyond Hercules. It was really just about having fun,” says Raposo who first met Wiley in college before joining the now defunct DFA produced hip-hop act Automato together. “Then Nomi came in with hundreds if not thousands of songs her laptop.”
ELI ESCOBAR

Escobar grew up in Harlem in the ’80s and consumed a diverse range of music which has done well to develop his aural palate, lending him a sincerity in his sets that isn’t widely felt in the club scene. Born with a Puertorican father, a Greek mother, and an insatiable thirst for comic books and Fleetwood Mac, Escobar’s musical range is about as unique as the man is himself. This past year saw the DJ continue lighting up the night in addition to laying down a fresh track with “Might Like You Better”-vocalist Amanda Blank; a collaboration which became just one of his favorite musical memories from the past year.
