Alliance Française of Hyderabad is glad to bring to the Twin Cities a unique Film Festival, “Cannes in India”, Hyderabad Chapter, from Wednesday, November 9 to Sunday November 13, 2011.
Who hasn’t heard of Cannes Film Festival, one of the most prestigious in the World? Any filmmaker worth his name aspires to be at “Cannes” one day, where the very fact of being selected is an Award. Over the years, a few Indian Directors have accomplished the feat of going to Cannes and even win Awards. “Cannes in India” showcases 10 such films, which attained the glory of being selected and/or being awarded at the Cannes Film Festival in France. Of the ten films in the package, five are feature length films and the other five are short films.
Cannes in India Festival is curated by Meenakshi Shedde, Internationally reknowned film Jounalist and Critic. Alliance Française of Hyderabad is organising the event in collaboration with Moving Images film Club.
One of the award winning filmmakers, Murali Nair, is settled in Hyderabad. He will be present to interact with the cine lovers. Besides, two more directors, Rituparno Ghosh and Vikramaditya Motwane have been invited for the opening event.
