The "Amit Gupta Needs You" organization will be running a bone marrow donor registration service for minorities throughout the event. Social software pioneer Amit Gupta (Jelly, Photojojo, DailyJolt) is suffering from leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. All minorities are severely underrepresented in the national bone marrow registry, leaving him with a 1 in 20,000 chance of finding a match, compared with an 8 in 10 chance for Caucasians. Register at the event to help us change that! It takes just a few minutes, and you can be the one to save a life.
If you are NOT a minority, please join us in encouraging minority participation in the national bone marrow registry! Thank you.
In addition to the performances, we are hosting a very special premiere of games emerging from last weekends "Gamejam" hosted by Babycastles at Parson's School of Design. This weekend, participants in the gamejam got together and made seven games based on the tweets of @horse_ebooks (http://twitter.com/horse_ebooks), such as "Have you ever seen a grown man cry?"
We will also run a final tournament for Johann Sebastian Joust: An incredible 7-player PS3 move hack art game produced by the Douglas Wilson. The winner of this tournament gets to take home a copy of Katamari Damashii signed by Keita Takahashi!
