The next full moon happens at Thursday November 10, 2:16PM CST (yes, daylight savings time will have ended!) which is pretty much smack dab in the middle of the day -- but it's a tiny bit closer to a Wednesday night ride than a Thursday night ride, and so Wednesday night is the night we ride!
This would be the Full Beaver Moon – this was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. It is sometimes also referred to as the Frosty Moon.
So ... Wednesday night, November 9 at 11:59pm we assemble at the Pfluger Pedestrian/Bicycle bridge, and the ride starts about 12:30am the next morning.
As always, ride at your own risk, having lights on your bike at night is a good idea and it's always prudent to have at least enough equipment to change a flat.
