This captivating documentary is the product of five years of obsessive filming of live concert footage, exclusive interviews, and historic documentation focusing on three fiercely independent music labels and their bands.

Featuring Neurosis, ISIS, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Pelican, Oxbow, Evangelista, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, Cave In, and many others whose music and art found ideal homes in the artist-run record labels of Hydra Head, Neurot, and Constellation.

These labels combine hard-to-define, heavy music with a visual aesthetic that has enraptured worldwide fans, without the need for radio or corporate media outlets. They uphold the legacy of treating music as an art form, not as a product.

[SHOW] HANGEDUP (Experimental post-rock - Constellation Records)

Hangedup are an experimental rock group from Montreal, Canada. They are a two-piece band, featuring Genevieve Heistek (Ex Sackville, The Mile End Ladies String Auxiliary, Set Fire to Flames, Land of Kush) on Viola and Eric Craven (Ex Shortwave, Sackville, formerly Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band) on drums and percussion. Their sound can be described as viola put into loops, with lots of percussion (sometimes using selfmade instruments).

Ce reportage captivant est le fruit de cinq années de travail acharné, de captations lives, d’interviews exclusives et d'archives vidéos centré sur trois labels attachés à leur indépendance ainsi que sur les groupes qu’ils produisent.

Le reportage met en scène Neurosis, ISIS, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Pelican, Oxbow, Evangelista, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, Cave In et plein d’autres groupes dont la musique et l’art ont su trouver leur place au sein de ces labels dirigés par des artistes, à savoir Hydra Head, Neurot, et Constellation.

Ces labels conjuguant une musique Heavy difficile à définir à un travail visuel recherché ont su ravir de nombreux fans à travers la planète, et ce sans avoir recours aux radios et médias traditionnels de grande envergure. Hangedup est un groupe de rock experimental originaire de Montréal, Canada. Duo incorporant Genevieve Heistek (Ex Sackville, The Mile End Ladies String Auxiliary, Set Fire to Flames, Land of Kush) au violon et
