Democamp UofT brings together student hackers, developers and entrepreneurs to showcase their latest online projects to an audience passionate about start-ups. By allowing the student body to witness what their peers are capable of, we hope to invigorate their enthusiasm to change the world by harnessing today’s technology, whether it be web, mobile, or tablet devices.
Each student presenter will have an opportunity to demonstrate an application they’ve created for 5 minutes each, after which the floor will be open to facilitate a discussion and ask critical questions. The event is expected to showcase 10 new projects and attract over 400 students from various backgrounds and programs. After the presentations, refreshments will be provided and participants will be given the chance to network with the presenters and sponsor companies.
The short version: DemoCamp UofT 2011 is an amazing opportunity to discover talents at our university, and if you’re a developer, it’s a great way to get your work noticed. And did we mention free pizza and pop?!
