Haiti's Independence Day Celebration!

On Nov.19, Haitians and Non-Haitians alike are joining forces in the Bay Area to celebrate "Battle of Vertieres:" the last battle between Haitian slaves and the Napoleon's Army in 1804 that led to the end of slavery in Haiti. This decisive victory made Haiti the First Free Black Republic in the Western Hemisphere.
