This Friday 11-11-11 Seven & Sol + ViViD proudly welcomes the one and only DJ 8Ball (Space Cowboys), as well as DJ Pipe Harvey (UK) in celebration of our good friend Iver's birthday, also on 11-11-11!!
There's something very ominous about that many eleven's all lined up, so it must be a pretty special day. And seeing how Ke11y Slater just won his 11th world surfing title here in San Francisco, we thought we'd throw you a curve ball in the form of a 8 Ball!
These days 8Ball plays all sorts of genres, from breaks to house, from old school hip hop to new school funk, rock to electro, and all sorts of stuff in-between, but his ViViD set will be all about the House (Deep, Tech, Funk & Remixes). Which is why his mixes are top notch in any genre and one of the fan favorites are the Deckless Wonder series.
He's played many venues around SF, including the old standbys like Mighty, Shine, 1015, Temple, Wish, DNA Lounge, and The End-up. He was 1/2 responsible for a debaucherous monthly called Bikini Wax at the venue formerly known as Sublouge. He's played in stores while you've shopped, in restaurants while you dined, and at wineries while you've sipped chardonnay. He's played in homes, on rooftops and radios, in far-away castles and warehouses, under freeways and underground.
8Ball is also the official voice of Space Cowboys, and responsible for such rants as "Hipster Fixie Vamps", "Seemed Like a Good Idea At the Time", and "How to Survive New Year's" which is a great read if you plan on attending the Space Cowboys "Breakfast of Champions" at Mighty on New Years Day (which of course he will be playing!).

Also on the bill is newcomer DJ Pipe Harvey (UK) in to drop a some UK influenced house tracks in celebration of our good friend Iver's birthday. PH has long been immersed in the house and rave scene in his hometown of England since the mid 90's and his passion shows in all of his mixes. You can check out his latest mix here:

---->Plus, just added to the bill is surprise guest DJ Nigel Tuffnel (UK) from the seminal rock group Spinal Tap who will be playing closing set and turning it up to 11. Nigel is the big-haired, heavy metal rocker of the eponymous metal band, who famously showed off his specially-made amplifier that “goes to 11”, and will be on-tap to showcase his newest amp that is rumored to go to 12.
