"What do Illusions Tell us about Brain, Attention, and Some Challenges in Computer Vision"
Dear members,
I am Ray. Your host of our incoming meeting on 16, Nov. I'll help you to experience some fascinating illusions, thereby we understand how brain works. In the second half of the meeting we talk about some artificial intelligence. I invite you to prepare a short talk (2-5 mins) to share your ideas about attention (see Q1), and challenges in computer vision (see Q2).
Here's the questions for discussions and the program outline:
Section 1: Attention
Q1: (you can reply for either Q1 or Q2)
Can you concentrate (paying attention) on your work when you have to?
What's your tips that help you concentrate on something?
Attention is closely related to our creativity and effectiveness.
Please share your ideas with us.
After your sharing, I'll show you some fascinating illusions.
These illusions shed a light on how our attention system works.
With this in mind, I'll provide 4 actions that help to improve our attention.
Short Break
Section 2: relationships between the real brain and the artificial intelligence
After a short break, We'll move on to the relationships between
the real brain and the artificial intelligence.
Q2:
Please share your experience on interacting with any artificial
intelligence (AI) devices, such as google search, computer chess games, Siri, GPS, etc.
Have you found it powerful?
In the mean time, have you found any difference between such AI devices and human intelligence?
After your sharing, I'll demo more powerful illusions.
These illusions implicate how our brain perceives this world.
And this bridges to the critical challenges of the artificial intelligence.
Hopefully at the end of our meeting, we perhaps brings a start to new techniques.
I invite you to experience these fascinating illusions, take home with tips that improve our attention, and sharing your valuable ideas with us.
All the best,
Ray
