On December 18, 1981, Tom Brokaw signed off as co-anchor of the Today Show, "Taps," featuring a young Tom Cruise and Sean Penn debuted in theaters, Olivia Newton John was topping the charts with "Physical," and Chris O'Leary was born.
One of these things is far less significant than the others, but the last one is the one we'll celebrate on December 17th.
After years of celebrating my half-birthday (and one year of not acknowledging my birthday at all), let's celebrate my birthday as close as possible to my actual birthday, since it's kind of a significant one.
Naturally, the venue involves some very good beer. And I'll make sure the beer options are particularly stellar for this celebration.
Because 'tis the season for holiday parties and you will inevitably have conflicts with 20 other events, the celebration goes all day in two venues: the awesome Breukelen Bier Merchants from 2-7pm, and the equally awesome Barcade Brooklyn (388 Union Ave, near Powers St.) from 7pm-1am.
Come and go as you please, but stop by and have a beer to cheers this completely arbitrary and meaningless milestone!
