Whether it be the 250,000 revelers coming together at Ipanema Beach in Rio De Janeiro, the adoring clubbers who descend upon Privilege in Ibiza on a Monday night every summer, or the 25,000 fans en masse at Victoria Park in London, all are in attendance for the same reason: they have come to see Tiësto, the world’s biggest DJ/Producer!
Tiësto, a.k.a. Tijs Verwest, is a performer who has transcended musical genres to create a global ‘Tiësto’ brand. His achievements include a Grammy nomination, numerous MTV awards, performing at the opening ceremony of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, and even a wax statue at Madame Tussauds. With over 7 million followers on Facebook and over 130 million hits on YouTube, Tiësto has truly become a universal phenomenon.
Recently voted ‘The Greatest DJ Of All Time’ in a Mixmag poll, Tiësto has worked with artists as diverse as Nelly Furtado, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Goldfrapp, Jónsi from Sigur Rós, Diplo, and Busta Ryhmes. When he is not collaborating with some of the world’s most respected artists he is jet setting his way around the globe playing sold out shows to his adoring fans. His recently completed Kaleidoscope World Tour spanned more than 15 months and 175 dates across 6 continents playing to over 1,000,000 people. The hugely successful tour was recognized as such when Tiësto was nominated for two 2010 Billboard Touring Awards and listed in Billboard’s Top 25 biggest grossing touring acts of 2010.
Tiësto invested heavily in the visual aspect of his DJ sets including a mesmerizing exhibition of lasers, light shows and massive LED screens. “Throughout 2010 I concentrated all my energy on the Kaleidoscope World Tour. Along with the music, I created some of the best production to date, and it really felt like something special.”
Never one to rest on his laurels, Tiësto is more enthusiastic than ever for the new and improved 2011 live experience. The 2011 ‘CLUB LIFE TOUR’ and ‘TIËSTO LIVE IN CONCERT’ shows in Vegas will continue to evolve and expand what a live DJ show can be. “For me the possibilities are limitless and I have once again been working with a really talented team on state of the art production elements. I am really pleased with the results and I can’t wait for the fans to experience these incredible new shows!”
Tiësto has also been hard at work in the studio fine-tuning ‘CLUB LIFE - Volume One Las Vegas’ his new mix album released in April 2011. This is the first in a brand new ‘CLUB LIFE’ series that replaces ‘In Search of Sunrise’, one of the most successful DJ mix compilation series of all time.
Released through Tiësto’s own Musical Freedom record label, the album features 15 of the hottest new tracks and remixes from the best in dance music all mixed seamlessly by Tiësto. Artists such as Kaskade, Diplo, Hardwell, Henrik B, Moguai, Dúné, and Marcel Woods all make an appearance along with remixes from Sultan and Ned Shepard, Angger Dimas, Alesso, Thomas Gold, and Tiësto himself. “I wanted a fresh new series to reflect my new style which has been evolving in the clubs for the past few years. It fees great to launch my own series on my new label” says Tiësto.
Musically Tiësto has been experimenting more than ever before. “You would be surprised to hear what is on my personal playlist. I like all kinds of music and as I continue to develop as an artist I do not feel I should be confined to any one sound or expected genre. I draw influences from various sources whether it be movies, the people I meet, and of course all the amazing places I have been lucky enough to visit. This is definitely one of the best things about being a DJ.”
This was one of the reasons he set up the appropriately named Musical Freedom record label. Tiësto explains, “I want to be able to sign artists and release music that as a fan I would listen to. Musical Freedom allows me to do this and hopefully help out some new and exciting developing artists.”
Musical Freedom had immediate success with ‘C’Mon’, the massive Tiësto vs. Diplo collaboration that churned up dance floors worldwide in 2010. The track has now been reworked as ‘C’Mon (Catch ‘Em By Surprise)’ with none other than Busta Rhymes who adds his raw and energetic vocals, taking it in an entirely new direction. This new version is a worldwide top 10 hit and the music video has surpassed over 4 million views on YouTube.
Additional releases on Musical Freedom include Dada Life’s ‘Unleash The F**king Dada’, Tiësto vs Hardwell ‘Zero 76’, as well as other collaborations. Other artists with releases scheduled for 2011 include Henrik B, Angger Dimas, and more…
If you are the world’s #1 DJ/Producer at some point you have to conquer Las Vegas, therefore January 2011 saw the launch of ‘Tiësto In Concert‘ at The Joint in The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The monthly residency will play to over 4,000 people a night and promises to be a remarkable live music experience at one of the most dynamic venues in Las Vegas, “I’m so excited to play in Vegas, it’s a magical place and I’m looking forward to partying in this amazing city!” The feeling is obviously mutual as the city of Las Vegas has named a street ‘TiëstoWay’ and January 1st is now officially known as ‘Tiësto Day’.
Always on the cutting edge, Tiësto is also leading the way when it comes to working with some of the world’s most successful and recognizable global brands. He has been involved in hugely successful campaigns with Armani Exchange, SanDisk, Heineken, Smirnoff, Škoda, and he was recently named as the official European Ambassador for Activision’s DJ Hero 2. Tiësto is featured within the game as he takes to the virtual ones and twos delivering a pair of pulse-pounding exclusive mixes and joining the ever-growing roster of playable characters. Tiësto even used the footage of his character from within the game to create a music video for his recent hit track ‘Speed Rail’.
So with the launch of his Musical Freedom record label, the release of ‘CLUB LIFE – Volume One Las Vegas’, plus his monthly residency at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and the CLUB LIFE WORLD TOUR in full swing, 2011 is shaping up to be yet another huge year for Tiësto.
We can only imagine what he has in store for 2012 and beyond. Watch this space!

Gareth Emery`s stardom has seen him solidified his ranking to number 13 in DJ Mag`s 2011 Poll. There wasnt much that didnt go right for Gareth Emery in 2011, a year that saw him become increasingly established as one of the most innovative, unique, and exciting figures in modern dance music. With his numerous world-class productions topping charts everywhere, and his explosive DJ sets continuing to pack out clubs across the globe, you could be forgiven for thinking hes a long-established dance music old hand.
Writing and playing music is fundamental to Gareth Emery. His first gigs were at the age of 4, when despite never having lessons, he turned out to be so handy on the piano that his teachers insisted on him taking over the duties in school assembly. At 15, he found himself neglecting classical music training to sneak out to play guitar in a local indie band so ahead of their years that they found themselves headlining Southamptons music pubs despite all being underage. And at 22, whilst on holiday in France, fiddling with a 500 laptop and wondering what he was going to do with his recent politics degree, he wrote his first electronic classic: the seminal Mistral. Plenty more were to come.
Since then, the passing years have been pretty good to this young Brit. His relentless touring schedule now sees him banking around 250,000 air miles every year, unequivocally demolishing dancefloors at the worlds finest clubs and festivals. Youll find him at global superclubs like Home in Sydney, Zouk in Singapore, The Guverment in Toronto and Amnesia in Ibiza. Youll find him at festivals like Hollands legendary 30,000 strong Trance Energy and Belgiums Tomorrowland. And youll also find him at the likes of Godskitchen and The Ministry of Sound in his native UK. In short, his unique, distinctive style is one thats got people talking, with events in over 25 countries a year a testament to his exploding worldwide popularity.
Today, in the Emery studio, its all about innovation, setting benchmarks, and challenging perceptions. Constantly escaping categorisation, his productions, (which are composed, produced, and engineered entirely by him), span the worlds of trance, progressive, electro, techno, and a few other places. Languid, spacey grooves, juddering basslines, killer melodies, and hooks that take your breath away mean that its a given that Armin, Tiesto, Oakenfold, and Judge Jules have all been fully paid-up members of the Emery fan club for years, while both Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk have tipped him as a future star.
Constantly ahead of the game, Gareth was one of the first DJs to embrace podcasting when he launched The Gareth Emery Podcast in early 2006. The antithesis of long drawn-out DJ mixes, the show soon became the essential download for switched on, savvy dance music fans, with each short but sweet episode providing a mouth-watering expose of the fortnights best music. Its success hasnt gone unnoticed by the industry either, being nominated for Best Podcast at the Miami IMDA awards every year since the category was introduced.
With a list of achievements already far surpassing most DJs ten years his senior, Gareth Emery could easily sit back and be content with his lot, but you get the feeling that wont be happening. His 2009 plans encompass a staggering amount of new projects, including his debut artist album: a long-awaited opus full of completely new material, and Garuda, his new record label and events brand hes launching after previously heading the much-missed Five AM imprint.
Listening to him speak about Garuda tells you all you need to know about the Emery ethos: I dont care if we release two records a year or ten, as long as each one utterly blows me away. And as long as the music passes his impossibly high barometer of quality, he isnt even bothered if it sells, although given his flawless record of producing and signing tracks that top DJ and sales charts everywhere, you rather suspect they will. Its about nothing more than hunting down the most incredible, life-changing music out there, and trying to give as many people as possible across this planet a taste of it.

"On a afternoon somewhere in the beginning of 2007 two friends decided to join forces, one Dj and one producer, both sharing great passion for house music.. Bassjackers was born..!”
Bassjackers aka Marlon Flohr and Ralph van Hilst had not foreseen what was coming when they started out with their collaboration. Marlon was already Dj-ing for a while and Ralph experimented a lot with making different kinds of dance music. Marlon was mainly playing house music at the time and then the idea came to push Ralphs productions in that direction so that Marlon could play the tracks in his sets. The first track they were both satisfied with was “Beat Cut”.
“Beat Cut” got picked up by Fedde le Grand and kickstarted their career. What followed was a solid stream of tracks and remixes which were supported by all the top jocks and scored big on the international dance charts, like for example their remix for Dada Life which scored #1 on hypem.com (the international hype machine). The success in the studio was also taken to the clubs and with a packed schedule of 250 gigs a year Bassjackers were definitely established in the dance scene.
Their BIG break came in 2011, their dancefloor bomb “Mush Mush” got picked up by Tiesto and got released on Tiesto’s imprint “Musical Freedom”. It dominated the Beatport top 10 for over 2 months and grew to be one of the biggest club/festival tracks of 2011. It’s that track that every DJ can play to destroy the dance floor, and so they did. Just to namedrop; Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Afrojack, Sander van Doorn, Martin Solveig, Calvin Harris, Benny Benassi, Judge Jules, the list of support is endless..!!
This resulted in a massive career boost! Remixing for A-list artists like Rihanna and Moby, playing in Privilege Ibiza alongside Tiesto and touring around the globe to demolish dance floors is just the beginning… Bassjackers are taking over and we are happy to announce that they will be joining us on new years eve!

There’s been a lot of buzz lately about this Otto Knows. Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Otto Knows is quickly becoming an extremely sought out artist. Avicii is already a huge supporter of this young guy…he plays Otto Know’s amazing “Hide and Seek” remix in his sets, included him as a guest on his Le7els oo2 podcast, and did a mashup of an unknown Otto Knows song with the Calvin Harris song “Flashback”. Below is a track that Otto Knows premiered while guest mixing on Avicii’s second podcast. Called “Million Voices”, this song has an incredible vocal loop and an awesome beat. First we had Avicii, then Alesso, and now Otto Knows. Vancouver is in for a journey on new years eve!
