Icebergs Ahead: 5 Mobile Opportunities and Risks in 2012 Gordon White, Head of Ad Trading for Qype: Europe’s largest local review site will be presenting to and educating us about some of the trends in mobile that as marketers we should be aware of for 2012 . Gordon is Head of Ad Trading for Qype: Europe’s largest local review site. He has previously worked for Total Telecom - the world’s leading source of telecoms business news and has also provided mobile strategy for companies such as Discovery Networks International and APN Digital Media.With a monthly audience of 20 million visitors and app downloads in excess of two million, mobile is at the very heart of Qype’s growth and commercialisation strategies. Today more than 30% of Qype's new engagement comes via mobile devices. The next generation of mobile mapping Ricky graduated from the University of Windsor with degrees in Physics, Computer Science and Mathematics. He started his career as a Technical Support Engineer for Bing Maps and quickly moved up to the role of GIS architect for a software consultancy called Infusion Development. In 2009 Ricky co-founded the Bing Maps UK user group as he has been heavily involved in the Bing Maps community. In 2010 he co-founded a software consultancy called InKnowledge that has a strong focus on GIS development. In 2010 he was also awarded the title of “King of Bing” after winning a software development contest for Bing Maps. In the summer of 2011 Ricky joined the Microsoft team and took on the role as the EMEA Bing Maps Technology Solution Professional. Integrated applications as business drivers as opposed to catapulting animated animals as ancient greek ruins Chris Thompson is a Creative Technologist at leading London digital agency, Imano. Chris began has career as a business development executie in the technology sector. During this time he became a specialist in public and private networks, creatively applying IT solutions to manage information flow, streamline organisational structure and develop new market opportunities. Prior to Imano Chris worked in music and online media defining and managing roll out of consumer engagement and retail solutions. As founding Director of music e-Commerce business, Digital Animal, he won 4 UKTI Creative Industries Awards in 3 consecutive years and in 2008 was shortlisted for the O2 Arena Entrepreneur of The Year award. Chris has delivered successful campaigns for Sigur Rós, Radiohead, Dame Shirley Bassey and Pink Floyd and consumer loyalty incentives for international brands including Nintendo, Associated News and NatWest/RBS. As Creative Technologist at Imano he now works across FMCG, Retail, Entertainment, Travel, Finance & Public sectors to create enterprise level consumer engagement solutions with a focus on best practice to enable fast cost effective deployment of bespoke mobile and tablet applications across multiple brand properties.
