Please join us on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 7PM PST for a tech talk about running MySQL and HBase at Facebook.

7:00 PM – 8:00 PM PST –Tech Talk
8:00 – 8:30 PM PST – Q&A
Facebook is the largest social network in the world with over 800 million active users. We use MySQL and Hbase to manage some of our important user data. The MySQL installation at Facebook is one of the largest in the world. We work hard to improve the quality of service and performance from the database tier. Members of the database operations, performance and engineering teams will describe what we do to keep our MySQL and HBase deployments running at scale. We will delve into database performance, compression, online schema change, backups, Hbase operations and maybe even some live demos.
If you can't make it in person, you can watch the live stream on Tech Talks Live at
http://on.fb.me/techtalkslive. We’ll begin streaming the talk at 7:00PM PST! We invite you to ask questions via the ‘Ask A Question’ button (you can do so both in advance and during the tech talk).
NOTE: Due to limited space at Facebook HQ, please RSVP if you are planning to attend in person. This includes all +1s, in order to have their name on the list. Please either comment on the wall with their name or have them RSVP on this event page.
