Advent Toastmasters, a Presidents Distinguished award-winning Toastmasters International Clubis presenting a special guest speaker (Trent Berry) at its December 5th meeting. Mr. Berry is part of the award-winning training team at Advent Software and he will be sharing a special message about what matters most when you are speaking to audiences: Caring.
Mr. Berry is coming to speak to the Advent Toastmasters group as a part of a program launched by the club to expose it's members to speakers outside the organization that are professionals in the public speaking arena.
The special meeting will be held on December 5th, 2011 at 12 noon. The meeting location is at Advent's office located at 600 Townsend (at 7th Street) in the Law Conference room in the Advent Conference Center on the 1st floor.
Advent Toastmasters was started in 2009 by Rodney Paul. Today the Ping Ho is the club president and the club is 22 members strong. Advent Toastmasters members have a common goal - to provide a friendly environment to help people improve their communication skills.
Mr. Berry has a taken a unique path to his current role at Advent. From Ohio, Mr. Berry went to Morehouse and was the debate team president there. After college, Mr. Berry tried law school and then went in search of adventure overseas. He taught English in France and when he got back to the US, he first went to work as a French translator. Then a friend told him about Advent. Mr. Berry got a position in training at Advent and he has not looked back since.
